Scripting is now live for GW2. Thanks for all your feedback and helping me get this moving. I will be working on various plugins now that scripting is out. If you have any requests just let me know. I know vendoring is strongly requested, so that will be one of the first ones I want to make.

There is a background mode plugin already made. Enjoy. You can find it in the forums under the Guild Wars 2 Scripting section.
